Applying for a Provisional Driving Licence

You can apply for a provisional licence from the age of 15 years and 9 months.

You must have been given permission to live in the UK for at least 185 days.

You must be able to read a number plate from a distance of 20 metres.​​

The DVLA will process your licence as quickly as possible and you should expect it to arrive within approximately three weeks from submitting your application.

You will need your licence to arrive and provide your DVSA code to your instructor to prove your entitlement to drive prior to taking lessons.
