Prove Your Entitlement to Drive

Having your provisional licence is not enough to confirm your eligibility to get behind the wheel.

You will also need to obtain a code from the DVLA to provide to your instructor who can then check the validity of your licence online.

To generate your code you will need your:

Driving licence number

National insurance number

Postcode

Then visit:  https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

  • Your licence code must be generated and provided to your instructor prior to your first lesson.

  • You will need to show your instructor your provisional licence on your first lesson.
