TERMS AND CONDITIONS
LAYCO DRIVING SCHOOL (LDS) ARE A TRADING NAME OF LAYCO LTD.
Driving instructors working with LDS are franchisees and are self-employed. They work within the restrictions of the franchise agreement between themselves and LDS. The contract between pupils and their instructor are independent and are not connected with LDS.
LEARNER DRIVERS
All pupils are responsible for providing their instructor with proof that they are eligible to drive. Failure to do this prior to their first lesson will result in the instructor rightfully refusing to teach the pupil and charging for the lesson in full.
PAYMENT FOR LESSONS
Payment for lessons can be made online to LDS or directly with your instructor. Payments made directly to your instructor are not the responsibility of LDS so you should obtain a receipt from your instructor or have proof of payment.
LESSON CHARGES
Lesson prices may rise over time. Pupils will be notified (at least 4 weeks) prior to any increase to the cost of lessons. Any lessons pre-paid will be delivered at the original price.
REFUNDS
Refunds can be obtained for all lessons which have not been delivered (subject to our 48 hour cancellation policy). Any refunds made are done so via the same method of payment, so your credit or debit card will need to be the same one used at the time of purchase. If this is not available, LDS may ask for proof that the account is in the same name as the original payment. This refund policy is only valid for funds paid directly to LDS and does not cover any monies paid directly to your instructor.
CREDIT AND DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS
Payments can be made by credit or debit card via a card machine in your instructors car. Payments made via this method carry a £2 service charge.
CANCELLATION POLICY
It is the pupil's responsibility to provide their instructor at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Failure to do so will result in the pupil being charged for the lesson at the full lesson rate.
PLEASE NOTE: In the event of mechanical breakdown, excessive traffic, or any other reason outside the instructor's control, the instructor reserves the right to reschedule the lesson at short notice.
Our instructors can refuse to take pupils on their lesson should they have any reason to believe the pupil is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In this unlikely event, the lesson will be charged at the current lesson rate.
TRANSFERRING LESSONS
Any lessons pre-paid can only be redeemed by the original pupil and are not transferable to another pupil.
CHANGES TO A PUPIL'S LICENCE OR HEALTH
It is the pupil's responsibility to notify their instructor of any changes to their health or licence which may prevent them from being legally allowed to drive. Any lessons not carried out due to the pupil failing to inform their instructor are chargeable at the full lesson rate if within the 48-hour cancellation policy.
PRACTICAL DRIVING TESTS
LDS instructors can (and will) refuse the use of their car should they feel a pupil is not ready for their practical test. Pupils should not assume they are ready and book a practical test without the advice from their instructor. Any money lost to the DVSA is not the responsibility of LDS or their instructors and lies solely with the pupil.
