The driving theory test is the first exam you will need to pass in order to obtain your licence, and it must be passed before you can book your practical test.

You must pass your practical test within two years of passing your theory test or you will need to re-sit the exam.

The theory test is made up of two sections:
50 multiple-choice questions and a hazard perception test.

There are two main tools to help you prepare:

Firstly, you could opt for 'The Official DVSA Theory Test' book.

Secondly, you could visit the app store on your phone and download The Official DVSA Theory Test Kit.

Here at Layco Driving School, we would recommend opting for the app. It includes hazard perception training and provides feedback on questions which were answered incorrectly, helping you to focus on areas of weakness.

It's also cheaper!
